TTouch Workshops

TTouch bodywork uses a combination of circles, slides and lifts to increase awareness, reduce stress and relax tension held in the body. In the groundwork exercises the dog is taken slowly through a series of obstacles. As the body comes into balance, we find that the mind and emotions follow. We often see improvements in the dog's co-ordination, focus and confidence in a variety of situations.

During the workshop we will cover the principles of TTouch, some basic ttouches, handling techniques, how to use the wraps and an introduction to groundwork. You will be able to experience for yourself how the TTouch method can be of benefit to your dog. Our dogs have to adjust to our often busy and stressful lives, so we’ll also take a look at how dogs display signs of stress and what we can do to help them.

The workshop is informal and relaxed. You will have the opportunity to practise ttouches and groundwork with each other and with your dogs during the day.  So you’ll be able to go away with some practical skills that you can then continue with at home.

We work with the dogs in a very calm, focused way and I find all the dogs (and their owners) are very relaxed by the end of the day. However if you think your dog may not be able to settle in the hall with other people and dogs please ring me before the workshop.  If you wish to attend without a dog that is fine as the emphasis of the day is on you the handler learning the skills.
